*It’s My Birthday*
Today marks my 28th year of life. I have cried, laughed, been stressed, and been happy within this 28 years. I have gained plenty of friends and I have lost plenty as well. I have had my trials and tribulations but I must say that I am the happiest I have ever been. This year, I was able to celebrate my birthday with people who mean a lot to me, have the spotlight and was treated like a queen.
Every year I try to plan out this “Weekend of Fun” but it never works out that way, lol. Something always goes wrong. I’ve learned to just live for the moment. Everyone wonders why my birthday is so exciting to me and it’s because turning a year older motivates me to keep doing everything I do, whether its designing, cooking, teaching my daughter, etc. My friends laugh at me when I say “I’m to old for this/that. Im almost 30.” I look at life in a different light. I don’t cry about what I don’t have or hang on to past situations. I give thanks for the life I have and the good people I share it with!!
This year, I celebrated my birthday at The Forbidden Palace Chinese Bar and Bistro in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The food was amazing and the service was excellent!!! This was my 3rd time going and it seemed like the food got even better than before, minus the hot pepper oil (baaadddd decision). Lol!!
This year I had the pleasure of designing my birthday outfit. Hancocks Fabric was my bestfriend for like 3 whole hours. It took me that long to find the material that I wanted. My original plan was to just do a whole tutu using black tulle but they did not have black. I called my bff and she insisted that I find another material that I like, and then I SAW IT!!! The material cost about $18 plus I have alot left over. I used Tulle from my old tutu to boost it up some and give it that full look. My Jean shirt was bought at Conway for $16.99(not sure if you guys have that store near you). My bowtie, which is my favorite part of my outfit, was also MADE BY ME!!! Fishnet stockings were purchased at the beauty supply store near my house for $4.95. My shoes were bout a while ago while thrifting for $6. My hair was also created by me costing around $15.
I have been saying for years that I wanted to create my outfit and just put it off until “my circle” pushed me out of my box. I love the friends and CLOSE family I have because they see my potential and they are supportive to the up most!!!
Check out mt outfit and please tell me what you guys think!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!
