The funny thing about an ugly sweater is that they are so freaken cute. The truth is, my competitive side kicks in when I hear the word “competition”. I go above and beyond for a good clean win. My creativity jumps way off the map and for this competition, I think I outdid myself. As I sat there in my decorated Gap sweater, the whispers began “how is she going to win if shes not even wearing a sweater?” Silly, silly people…sweaters don’t just come huge and heavy nor do they all come in turtleneck form. I, myself, prefer something light and petite. Classic. Creative. Cute. With a splash of ugly. Hahaha!
My projected budget was $20 for the entire outfit. My actual amount spent was about $60. As you can see, I went way over budget. I could have made that $20 work for me but of course i couldn’t help myself when ideas popped in my mind. I get a little crazy when it comes to designing. In a previous post, I talked about saving money, what to do, what not to do; however, this was an epic fail. *PLEASE DON’T JUDGE ME*
I was prepared to look for my sweater on Tuesday (the day I found out about the contest) after work. Needless to say, I didn’t get everything I needed until Friday.. evening…I will say that even tho I had less than 24 hours to prepare my sweater, I did a darn good job and turned heads!!! It could have had alot to do with the blinding metallic balls and garland on the front and back. Lol!!!
I found this project very exciting and fun!!! I’m dying to see your Christmas sweaters!!! Check out my post “The Good, Bad and the Ugly of Christmas” for the contest rules!!! Questions?
